New Delhi, June 05: As rampant power-cuts continue to compound the problems of Delhiites in the sultry summer, Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) has issued a set of guidelines to private electricity companies on setting right the break-downs. The DERC has also directed the licencee companies to install electricity meters to people on demand and maintain it thereafter.
Guidelines were also issued on matters of billing problems, voltage complaints, scheduled power cuts and grievance redressal.
The norms would be effective from July one and will be valid till further orders, the DERC said.
The procedures finalised by the DERC indicate the time limits within which special jobs are expected to be attended to by the distribution companies (distcoms).
The procedures specifically mention that each consumer while making a complaint with the distcoms is to be provided a specific complaint number and this would be monitored by the senior officers of the distcoms.
The chief executive officers of all the distcoms are to be provided with daily reports on the status of complaints received and attended to, the DERC said. Bureau Report
