Sri Lankan film festival from September 25-28
Mumbai, Sept 23: The Sri Lankan Film Festival 2002 would be inaugurated by city Sheriff Kiran Shantaram at the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) here on September 25.

would be inaugurated by city Sheriff Kiran Shantaram at the
National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) here on September
25.
Three award winning films--the compensation (by Bennett
Rathnayake), pilgrimage (Vasantha Obeysekera) and sorrow of
existence (Dharmasiri Bandaranayake)--would be screened at the
four-day festival, according to a release here today.
The films extensively relate with the pre-independence and modern society in Sri Lanka.

The festival is being organised by the consulate general
of Sri Lanka in association with the ministry of cultural
affairs, Indo-Sri Lanka society, NCPA and Prabhat Chitra
Mandal.
This is the third consecutive time that the festival is
being held in Mumbai.
