Jaipur, June 16: Bhartiya Janata Party has dismissed as "childish", Congress president Sonia Gandhi's charge that BJP was putting hurdles in providing reservation to women in legislature. "It is a childish statement of a responsible leader,” Rajasthan chief of Bhartiya Janata Party, Vasundhara Raje, said in a statement here on the assertion made by Gandhi at the conference of women's empowerment in Ajmer last week that BJP was not interested in giving reservation to women.
The policies and intentions of all the political parties on Women's Reservation Bill is like an open book before the people who can not be misled by such statements, Raje said.
The BJP, she said, had always been advocating 33 per cent reservation for women but congress had been presenting its different faces inside and outside Parliament.
