Ambala, Dec 15: Haryana government has decided to equip its police force with latest electronics equipments, including walkie-talkie and wireless sets, a senior police official here said. Haryana Police had already paid Rs 5.50 crore to a company to prepare the wireless sets of latest technology, state police chief M S Malik told reporter here today.
Replying a question, he said that the crime rate had decreased during the last three years in the state.
The atrocities on the Dalits had also reduced by 6.58 per cent in the state, he said.
Malik said the uniforms of the state police would be designed in such a way which would be attractive to look and convenient to wear. Besides, authorities are studying the police uniforms of various states including Andhra and Gujarat.
Malik said 1037 posts of Havaldar, 879 post of ASI and 20 post of inspectors were created in the police department so that the officials of the department could get their promotion in due time. Bureau Report
