Charlie Hunnam set to join `American Drug Lord`

Washington: Charlie Hunnam is set to join 'American Drug Lord,' about cartel leader Edgar Valdez , it has been reported.

The story follows Valdez's journey from a high school football player to a prominent cartel leader in Mexico. After making 130 million dollars in one year, he became a brutal force. As the cartels turned on one another, Valdez's life became a struggle to stay alive, Deadline.com reported.

'American Sniper's' Jason Hall will pen the script, while Hunnam will produce along with Legendary and Plan B's Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner.
