Los Angeles: Edgar Ramirez provided a sneak peek into "Point Break", a remake of the 1991 thriller starring Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves, and which this time around switches the Venice Beach setting for a global eco-adventure.
In the new version, a young FBI agent, played by Luke Bracey, infiltrates a group of extreme-athletes suspected of indulging in high-risk criminal activities.
Leader of the group is Bodhi, the character played by Ramirez, EFE reported on Friday.
"The shoot of this film changed my life," the 38-year-old Venezuelan actor said.
"Being in contact with the majesty of nature makes you appreciate life more and you want to live it to the max," Ramirez said.
The movie, which opens on December 25, includes action scenes performed by experts in big-wave surfing, wingsuit flights, extreme downhill snowboarding, free solo rock climbing and motocross racing.
"Point Break" was filmed on location in Australia, Germany, Tahiti and Venezuela, specifically at Canaima National Park in the state of Bolivar.
Ramirez, nominated for an Emmy and a Golden Globe Award for his role in "Carlos", also has another Christmas premiere coming up, that of drama "Joy" in which he shares screen space with Robert De Niro and Jennifer Lawrence.
