New Delhi: Well, it wasn’t easy at all for Mumbai girl Diana Penty to portray a Punjabi character on-screen in her latest film 'Happy Bhag Jayegi'. Reportedly, the 30-year-old actress spent a lot of time in its research.
Diana also went to Amritsar as a part of the homework for her role.
"It was not easy. I had to work hard on it and gave more importance to prep up for the role. Because I knew that I would need it to make me more confident about playing a role, especially something so different. So I spent a lot of time doing that. I researched on the character," she told Filmfare.
The 'Cocktail' diva added, "I spent a few days in Amritsar, met local girls, observed their mannerism, the way they spoke. Then somebody was helping me with the language and the diction. So I did my homework very serious."
We can now say that her hard work has paid off in the form of 'Happy Bhag Jayegi' success. The Mudassar Aziz directorial has minted more than Rs 6 crores in just two days.
