Los Angeles: Singer Adele's new single "Hello" has become the second-fastest clip to earn 100 million plays on Youtube.
This comes less than a week after the track's music video broke Vevo's record for most single-day views, reported Ace Showbiz.
The Xavier Dolan-directed visuals crossed the mark in only five days. The only video to reach 100 million views faster than "Hello" is Psy's "Gentleman" that achieved the feat in only four days following its release back in 2013.
"Hello" came out last week as the first single off Adele's new studio effort, "25", which is set to hit the shelves on November 20.
The track will make its debut on Billboard Hot 100 at No 1 next week. Its parent album is expected to be just as big as its lead cut. Marking the British beauty's first full-length since 2011's "21", the project has been projected to sell somewhere between 1.3 to 1.8 million in its first week.
With the figure, Adele may best Taylor Swift's 1.29 million first-week sales for last year's "1989" and even Britney Spears' 1.32 million opening week for 2000's "Oops!...I Did It Again" which remains the biggest debut week for a female in the Nielsen era (1991 until present).
