Beyonce taps families of police brutality victims for music video

Los Angeles: Singer Beyonce Knowles, who earlier faced a backlash over her controversial song "Formation" and its politically-charged performance at the Super Bowl 50, is now said to be readying a new music video that will centre on the families of teens who were killed by police.

Over the weekend, Knowles's reputable fan site The Beyhive revealed that one of her upcoming visuals would feature the parents of Trayvon Martin, Mike Brown and Tamir Rice. The parents will reportedly appear in the video holding photographs of their slain sons, reports aceshowbiz.com.

Martin was 17 years old when he was killed by security guard George Zimmerman in February 2012. Brown was 18 when police officer Darren Wilson fatally shot him in Ferguson in 2014, the same year 12-year-old Rice died at the hands of a Cleveland police officer. Their tragic deaths helped spark the Black Lives Matter movement.

More details about the video or which song it is for are still unknown. However, her fans believe the track is part of the singer's new album that is expected to be released sometime next month before she begins her "Formation" world tour on April 27.
