Mumbai: Pakistani Ghazal singer - Ghulam Ali – who was scheduled to perform at an event in Delhi on November 8, wouldn’t be making it to the concert for a personal reason, reports suggest.
The veteran’s concert which was scheduled to be held at Mumbai’s Shanmughananda Hall on October 9, was forcibly called off after Shiv Sena Chief Udhav Thackeray met the organisers and threatened them of disrupting the event if they continued to host the Pakistani musician.
The Shiv Sena had said that until Pakistan stops ceasefire violations across the border and stop sponsoring terrorism, they wouldn’t let any of its artists or cricketers to perform in India.
Following the cancellation of the concert in Mumbai, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had sent an invite to Ghulam Ali to perform in the capital.
Reportedly, the singer will be performing at the Lucknow Mahotsav on December 3.
