PM Narendra Modi to address Global Citizen Festival; Coldplay, Jay Z set to perform live!

The much awaited and talked about Global Citizen Festival India will be held today at MMRDA Grounds in Bandra Kurla Complex. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing the concert via video-conferencing at 7.40 p.m, reportedly.

New Delhi: The much awaited and talked about Global Citizen Festival India will be held today at MMRDA Grounds in Bandra Kurla Complex. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing the concert via video-conferencing at 7.40 p.m, reportedly.

The concert will be headlined by popular rock band Coldplay, and many Bollywood A-listers have already shared their selfies with Chris Martin on various social media handles. From Bollywood, celebrities such as Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, A R Rahman, Ranveer Singh, Katrina Kaif, Parineeti Chopra, Alia Bhatt and several others are going to mark their presence.

From the international arena, India will see Coldplay, Jay Z, The Vamps and Demi Lovato perform live for the first time. ANI reported that more than 80 percent of the tickets were given away free to those who took part in social activities in support of Global Citizen India across the country.

Also, more than 80,000 fans from across the country will be seen thronging the event. The Global Citizen Festival kickstarted in 2012 and is annually held at New York City`s Central Park. It partners with the Global Poverty Project, a movement aiming to end extreme poverty by 2030.
