The 23-year-old singer, whose much-anticipated album is all set to release on 25 March, said in an interview that the release is exactly one year after he quit the band, but it was not planned, Channel.24 reports.

The 'Steal My Girl' hit-maker further said that it just seemed to coincide with the iTunes launch and everything and that it might be a sign. Malik also expressed his happiness for being included in One Direction's 'History' music video, which shows old footage of the band when they first formed on 'X Factor'.
