A high-level meeting on Saturday reviewed the security scenario in Assam in the wake of the terrorist attack on parliament on December 13 and decided to further enhance it, official sources said in Guwahati.
The meeting, presided over by chief secretary P K Bora decided to tighten security in and around important government institutions, vital installations and infrastructure as well as important public places throughout the state with a view to preventing occurence of any untoward incident. The meeting was attended by director-general of police, H K Deka, additional chief secretary, M S Pangtey, home commissioner H S Das and other senior officials of the police, Army, CRPF, various intelligence agencies, airport authority, Indian Oil Corporation and Oil India Limited.
