Hyderabad, Oct 05: Teen tennis sensation Sania Mirza defeated compatriot Rushmi Chakrvarty 6-3, 7-5 in the final to win the USD 10,000 professional women's ITF tournament at Jakarta, Indonesia today. Sania was in her full elements and raced ahead in the first set outplaying the fighting Rushmi to reach to a convincing 4-3 lead, according information received here.

Accelerating her pace, the Wimbledon junior doubles champion proved her supremacy with some sizzling cross court shots and humbled Rushmi to take the next two games in a row. The second set saw oscillating fortunes with Sania slipping the grip on the game after a healthy 4-1 lead as the seasoned Rushmi gave her the scare to take the next games.

At 4-3, the game was equally poised and the two Indians gave their best to the Jakarta spectators with each winning a game and infusing more competitive spirit into the game.

Sania fumbled at 5-4 by missing a match point but finally came back to win the laurels at 7-5 to win her sixth professional ITF title. Bureau Report
