Washington, Sept 17: In the backdrop of fresh incidents of terrorism in India, which New Delhi suggested were Pakistan-inspired, the US has reiterated its stand that the two neighbours must continue to work to reduce tensions in the region. Asked yesterday what was the message the US President would have for India and Pakistan at the next week's UN General Assembly meeting in the light of Prime Minister A B Vajpayee's "refusal" to meet with President Pervez Musharraf in New York because of double bombings in Mumbai, White House spokesman Scott McClellan took the standard US line that George W Bush would like the two neighbours to try to reduce tensions. "As we get closer to the UN, we'll have more to say about his agenda and his meetings and his remarks that he will make... We have made our views very well-known when it comes to India and Pakistan and the need for the parties to continue working to reduce tensions in the region," McClellan said.
