Three of family shot dead in Mussoorie
Dehradun, June 06: A security guard along with his son and daughter-in-law was shot dead early this morning at his house in the hill resort of Mussoorie and police claimed to have cracked the case by arresting two persons including one of the assailants.

Four persons with country-made guns barged into the house of Kartar Singh, a security guard at the prestigious Lal Bahadur Shastri IAS Academy, at around 6.15 am and gunned down the couple Vicky and Alka while they were asleep. Later they shot dead Kartar Singh before escaping on motorcycles.
One of the four assailants, Surinder Singh, was arrested later following a manhunt, DIG (crime) Anil Raturi said. He said, on being interrogated, Surinder revealed that the murder was committed at the behest of Alka's father Kunwar Singh, who was not happy with the marriage that took place in November last year against his wishes.
Later, police also arrested Kunwar Singh from his house at Rajpur area in Dehradun city. Two country-made rifles used in the crime have also been recovered, Raturi said.
The manhunt for the other assailants was continuing, he said. The gory tale had its origin in the elopement and marriage of Alka with Vicky in November last against Kunwar Singh's wishes who opposed the marriage because the boy belonged to a lower caste, Raturi said.
