Shanghai, Nov 11: Senior officers of the Indian and Chinese navies today visited each other's frontline warships and exchanged views on the operations of their units. The flag officer commanding of the Eastern Command of the Indian Navy, Vice Admiral O P Bansal and the Flag Officer commanding of the Eastern Fleet, Rear Admiral R P Suthan along with a number of naval officers visited the Chinese frigate 'Jia Xing' this morning.
After inspecting a guard of honour presented by the sailors of the Chinese ship, Bansal and others were led to a 'briefing room' on board the indigenously-made frigate where the Indian side was introduced to the warship's capabilities.
The visit included a trip to the 'bridge room' of the ship as well as the engine room where the Chinese hosts explained various details and answered questions posed by the Indian sailors.
"The interaction was good and has led to greater appreciation of each other's capabilities," Bansal told news agencies on board the Chinese ship.
