Thiruvananthapuram, July 20: Normal supply of petroleum products, vegetables and essential commodities continues to be hit as the trucker`s stir entered the sixth day today with no solution in sight.

However, petrol and diesel shortage has come down in many places with government making alternative arrangements for the distribution of petrol and diesel by seizing the private tankers under ESMA.
Civil Supplies Corporation would take over petrol bunks as part of its effort to normalise the supply petrol and diesel, state Civil Supplies Minister G Karthikeyan said. Meanwhile, state Transport Minister R Balakrishnan Pillai said that government was ready for talks with the truck owners and transport workers unions who were on strike demanding rollback of recently increase motor vehicle tax.
Though government had lifted restrictions in transporting vegetables in private vehicles, prices of vegetables and other essential commodities continued to be on raise. Bureau Report
