Washington, June 04: Wooing NRIs to invest in Uttar Pradesh, Mayawati, chief minister of India's largest state, has assured the investors that they could avail very attractive facilities in the state. Speaking at a reception hosted by Indian ambassador Lalit Mansingh yesterday in her honour, she said that the state government was doing its best to improve the condition of the people and was giving various facilities to attract capital.

She said that NRIs, who were doing so well in the US, could invest some of their funds in India and they will find the facilities in Uttar Pradesh very attractive. Their investments would help both them and the state, she said.

Paying tribute to her, Mansingh said that Mayawati was a dalit who had fulfilled the dream of Dr B R Ambedkar, father of the Indian Constitution, for social justice for those who had been kept out of the mainstream.
Co-chairman of the delegation Kapil Sibal pointed out that the delegation consisted of members of different parties but they were all united in standing up for India.
The Indo-US relationship is a growing relationship. It will be nurtured and the two countries will move forward together into the 21st century, he said.
