Bangalore, June 04: A fire broke out during an evening show in a cinema hall in the heart of the city today leading to a stampede in which four people were injured, police said. As the audience, who were watching Hindi movie "Bhoot", saw smoke in the hall after junk furniture caught fire, they ran out in panic, police said.

One person even jumped out of Abhinay cinema hall located in the crowded majestic area, they said adding he was admitted to hospital.

Police said around 500 people were watching the movie when the incident happened.

Bangalore Police Commissioner Mariswamy described the fire as a "small" one and said it was put out immediately.

Nine fire tenders were rushed to the theatre to douse the fire.
