Jaipur, Nov 1: Rajasthan Muslim Quomi Movement today demanded that Congress give at least 25 tickets to minority community candidates in the December 1 assembly polls to show its commitment to the upliftment of Muslims. "Congress should field Muslim candidates from atleast 25 seats having predominant minority community population," senior vice-president of the movement Aftab Ahmed Khan told reporters here. Muslim population in the state was 56 lakh, therefore, the Congress should allot tickets to candidates in proportion with its strength, he said. There are 18 assembly constituencies, including Jaipur rural, where Muslim candidates, if given Congress ticket, can win hands down because of predominance of Muslim electorate he added.
