London, June 08: The fashion icon and idol of millions David Beckham is to be honoured with Order of the British Empire (OBE) on the Queen's birthday later this month.

He gets the award for services to football and for being an ideal family man, good to his wife Victoria and an ideal father to Brooklyn and Romeo. This will be a boost to him at a time when his Manchester United Club have indicated that they are willing to talk about a new contract.
Sources say that the Manchester United want to test his loyalty. There are indications that he might go over to a Spanish club. England wicket-keeper and former captain Alec Stewart is also reportedly in the OBE list. So are football managers Arsene Wenger and Gerard Houllier. The French bosses of Arsenal and Liverpool are to receive honorary OBEs.
