Sonepat, Sept 24: Despite alleged threats from the ruling Indian National Lok Dal, the Haryana Vikas Party will hold a public rally on Wednesday at Sirsa, HVP Chief Bansi Lal said.
The former Chief Minister alleged that he and his son, former MP and HVP general secretary Surinder Singh had received threats from leaders of the ruling INLD daring them to hold a rally criticising former Deputy Prime Minster late Devi Lal.
Addressing party workers at Bahalgarh village, 10 kms from here, Bansi Lal said he would ignore the threats and speak against Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala and late Devi Lal.
Expressing concern over the "lawlessness" in the state he charged the Chautala government with "shielding the criminals and not curbing crime with a strong hand."

Condemning the anti-farmer policies of the state government, Bansi Lal alleged the Chief Minister had "betrayed" the farmers in the state and failed to live up to his electoral promises of ensuring free power and water.
