PM to lay foundation stone for hydro project, address rally
Indore, Aug 30: Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee will lay foudation stone of the Omkareshwar hydro power project in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh today.

Vajpayee will also address a kissan sammelan organised by
BJP at Chaigaon Makhan near Omkareshwar later in the day, the
sources said.
The 520 MW Omkareshwar project will be constructed by the National Hydro Development Corporation (NHDC), at an estimated cost of Rs 2200 crore, the sources said. Vajpayee is scheduled to arrive here early in the morning and proceed to Omkareshwar by helicopter. After laying the foundation stone for the plant he will view a NHDC photo exhibition.
In the afternoon he will address kisan sammelan which assumes political significance in view of the assembly polls due later this year, BJP sources said. Bureau Report
