Mumbai, May 02: In a fresh development in the Mulund bomb blast case, police today arrested two alleged SIMI activists from Kalyan and Padgah villages in nearby Thane district. The duo were produced before a special court which remanded them to police custody till May 15. With their arrests, the total number of accused held in this case has gone up to six. Mohammed Kamil and Farah Abdul Malik were picked up last night from Kalyan and Padgah villages respectively and arrested today under Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) for their alleged involvement in the blast in a train at Mulund railway station on March 13 in which 11 persons were killed. In a related development, co-accused Ghulam Abdul Khotal was today further remanded to police custody till May 15. He was arrested from Ratnagiri district of coastal Maharashtra on April 21. During investigations, police came across vital information about Khotal's alleged role in the conspiracy.

Prime accused Saquib Nachan was arrested on April 10 and booked under Prevention of Terrorism Act. Nachan is the first accused to be arrested in the Mulund bomb blast case. Later, two more were arrested.

On April 29, police re-arrested Nachan in Ghatkopar bomb blast case. According to police, the explosions in Mulund and Ghatkopar were masterminded by the same conspirators and Nachan had allegedly played an active role in the conspiracy.

Nachan has been placed in police custody remand till May 12.
