Court stays framing of charges in Babri case
Lucknow, Oct 09: The Lucknow bench of the Allhabad High Court today stayed till November 4 the decision of the Rae Bareli court to frame charges against six BJP and VHP leaders in connection with the Babri Masjid demolition case.
Lucknow, Oct 09: The Lucknow bench of the Allhabad High Court today stayed till November 4 the decision of the Rae Bareli court to frame charges against six BJP and VHP leaders in connection with the Babri Masjid demolition case.
The bench took the decision on revision petitions filed yesterday by Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Vinay Katiyar, Uma Bharati and VHP leaders Ashok Singhal, Vishnu Hari Dalmia, Acharaya Giriraj Kishore and Sadhvi Rithambara challenging the Rae Bareli court`s decision to frame charges against them.
Another accused in the case HRD minister Murli Manohar Joshi got a reprieve last week in a high court order which stayed the Rae Bareli court`s decision to frame charges against him.
Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani was discharged by the trial court in the case earlier.
