Bhopal, June18: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh has instructed the concerned authorities to take all possible steps to provide outstanding facilities to devotees visiting Ujjain for the `Simhastha 2004'. Reviewing preparations for `Simhastha 2004' at the cabinet sub-committee meeting here yesterday, Singh said excellent facilities should be provided at all the `ghats' for the devotees and special alternative arrangements be made for the holy bath, an official release said here today.
Singh sanctioned Rs 10 lakh for the development and beautification of `Char Dham' and Rs 19 lakh for construction of `Sant Niwas' at Valmiki Dham and also directed the officers to renovate all the traditional sources of water and reservoirs. Ujjain collector Bhupalal Singh apprised the cabinet sub-committee about the proposed plan of construction and development works in the precincts of Mahakal Temple. The committee had sanctioned Rs five crore for the same.
The meeting also decided to put up exhibitions showing spiritual and cultural legacies of Madhya Pradesh in the premises of embassies (of various countries) suitably and across the country to inform people about the significance of the event.
A proposal for renovation of Mahakal Koti Tirthakund was also cleared by the committee, the release added. Bureau Report
