Kolkata, July 16: Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and veteran Marxist Jyoti Basu, an unsparing critic of BJP, were together guests at a lunch at a hotel in the metropolis today. The nonagenarian Marxist leader, who had often in the past described the BJP as an 'uncivilised and barbaric party', drove to the Hyatt Regency hotel to lunch with Vajpayee at which West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharjee and captains of industry were also present. The lunch was hosted by the Bengal Chamber of Commerce, the 150th anniversary celebrations of which were earlier inaugurated by Vajpayee. Bureau Report
