New Delhi, July 01: Two-wheeler maker LML today said its motorcycle sales has surged by over six times in June 2003 due to strong demand of the 110cc motorcycle 'freedom'. The Kanpur-based firm sold 16,781 motorcycles during the month against 2,398 units a year earlier, a company statement said.
Cumulative (April-June 2003) motorcycle sales stood higher by over seven times at 55,259 units against 7,278 units a year ago.
Total two-wheeler sales of the company, including scooters, grew by 117.2 per cent in June 2003 to 19,962 units from 9,190 units.
LML said sales of the 'freedom' has crossed 1,80,000 units within a year of its launch, thus making it the fastest growing motorcycle in the deluxe commuter segment. Bureau Report
