Melbourne, Dec 01: American sensation Michael Phelps will keep the swimming world guessing until just before next year's Athens Olympics as to what events he will compete in after winning all his six events at the Shortcourse World Cup meet here.
The 18-year-old added the 100-metres butterfly (51.11) and 400-metres individual medley (4:06.28) to a perfect three days' competition.
He had victories in the 100m and 200m individual medley, 200m backstroke and 200m butterfly on the opening two nights of the World Cup.
Phelps said he had plenty more improvement left after being disappointed with his turns in the 25m pool.
"I get killed in and out of the water," was Phelps' summation of a meet in which he broke two US records and came with a fraction of a second of two world shortcourse records.

"My second and third turn was particularly bad - that's probably the biggest thing I've got to work on," he said.

"The one part I'm fairly strong is my underwater kick - it's about the only thing I've got going for me. Hopefully, I can fix the other things and improve in the future."

Quizzed about what events he will swim in Athens next August, Phelps was coy about a program which could include seven races.

"I know it - no one else does though. We're keeping it secret until trials," Phelps said, referring to US Olympic trials in July.

"If the 100 fly's not looking good and the 200 back is, then we can swap those or whatever. We want to keep our options open and keep things ready until that time."
