Second generation atomic reactors soon: BARC director
Kollam, Feb 03: India is now heading towards the second generation of atomic reactors, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) Director B Bhattacharjee said.
Kollam, Feb 03: India is now heading towards the second generation of atomic reactors, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) Director B Bhattacharjee said.
Delivering the keynote address at the Amrithapuri campus of Amritha Vishwa Peetham (deemed university) after inaugurating the Amritha-BARC research centre here yesterday, he said the Kalpakkam atomic power plant in Tamil Nadu would soon receive the first of these second generation reactors. India was now recognised as a proponent of peaceful use of atomic energy, he added.
He promised BARC's technical support in the field of nuclear science to the Amritha-BARC research centre.
Deemed University Vice-Chancellor Dr Venkata Rangan presided over the function. Amrithapuri Math Vice-Chairman Swami Amrithaswaroopanandapuri delivered the valedcitory address.
