Kolkata, June 21: The Executive Director of the Airports Authority of India (National Airports Division) N K Puri who was arrested on June 19 for demanding a bribe of Rs 5000 from a civil contractor was today remanded to three days CBI custody while his son was granted bail by a North 24 Parganas court. The additional district and sessions judge Pachu Gopal Dutta today remanded Puri to three days CBI custody and granted bail to his son Ankush.
Puri and his son was caught red handed by the CBI while accepting money from a contractor. The sleuths also seized investment documents worth Rs 40 lakh, Rs three lakh in cash and other property documents from his residence, Singh said. The senior official had demanded Ts 5000 from the contractor, entrusted with construction of a boundary wall at the airport, in exchange for sanctioning his bills.
