New Delhi, Feb 21: Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani
today said the national capital has benefitted from a holistic
approach of ''Satyam, Shivam, Sundaram'' shown by the centre
towards development.
Laying the foundation stone for Delhi's second bio-diversity
park here today, Mr Advani said, ''as followers of Deen Dayal
Upadhayay, we used to hear the term 'integrated humanism' very
frequently and this has ever since been our understanding and
approach towards development.''
He said the idea of integrated humanism is like the Hindu
concept of ''Satyam, Shivam and Sundaram'', that is also relevant
for holistic development.
Mr Advani congratulated the Delhi development authority and the Delhi University especially for the initiative which would preserve the almost extinct biotic communities found earlier in the Aravali ranges. He also referred to the bio-diversity park developed on the Yamuna riverfront at Wazirabad and said that DDA not only constructs houses but develops the city in an integrated manner including environmental upgradation.
Speaking on the occasion, Union Labour Minister Sahib Singh Verma referred to the various development works taken up by DDA as also the problems being faced by the residents of Vasant Kunj, especially the lack of office space for various residents welfare associations.
Mr Madhukar Gupta, vice-chairman, DDA, assured Mr Advani that the DDA would continue to work towards providing integrated and holistic development in the city.
