Berhampur (Orissa), June 20: Five naxalites were arrested and arms and ammunition seized from their possession at Balipanka village under Gudari police station in Rayagada district, police said today. Guns, explosives, left wing leaflets and telephone wires were seized from the ultras who were nabbed during a combing operation yesterday, they said.

Four naxalites also surrendered before the police at Gudari yesterday.
In a separate incident, police arrested four persons, said to be naxalite sympathisers, at Raipanka village under Adaba police station in neighbouring Gajapati district on Wednesday last.

Combing operation was continuing at Adaba, Mohana and Udayagiri areas for the last three days targetting the ultras, particularly Sabyasachi panda, a prominent naxalite.
