New Delhi, Nov 17: The suspense over the nomination of Congress candidate and Minister in the Sheila Dikshit cabinet, Haroon Yusuf, ended today after Election Commission approved his form for contesting polls from Balli Maran Assembly seat. His nomination form had been put on hold after the BJP and other independent candidates had complained to the Election Commission that his nomination form should be rejected as he was holding the post of chairman of delhi Waqf board, which was an office of profit. However, the Election Commission today ruled that Delhi Waqf Board chairman's post was not an office of profit and hence his nomination form should be cleared thus giving much needed relief to the Congress camp. According to the Election Commission guidelines, no candidate would be allowed to contest the polls if he or she holds an office of profit. Bureau Report
