Lakhisarai (Bihar), Aug 17: Freedom fighter and a social activist Jageshwar Mahto died here today after prolonged illness, family sources said. Mahto was 80.

He is survived by his wife, two son and a daughter. Mahto who was ill for a long time died at his residence in Arma village under Surajgarha police station of Bihar's Lakhisarai district, the sources said.

Mahto had prominently participated in 1942 Quit India Movement and other programmes of freedom struggle under Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi.
