Islamabad, May 01: Pakistani investigators today interrogated a Yemeni al Qaeda suspect linked to the October 2000, USS Cole bombing, two days after he and five other terrorist suspects were captured in Pakistan's latest big heist in the war on terrorism. "They are still with us. We are investigating them right now," Brigadier Javed Cheema, head of the interior ministry's national crises management unit, said. He added that Bin Attash was suspected of involvement in the suicide bomb attack on the US destroyer in which 17 American sailors were killed while it was docked in Yemen's Aden Harbour. Cheema said that the United States investigators could join the interrogation at an unspecified later stage. "The US teams have not joined interrogations yet. Later they might," he said. Cheema said the nationalities of the other five suspects were unconfirmed but he believed they did include Pakistanis. "They look like Pakistanis. But it will take a little time before we reach a conclusion."
