Jammu, July 22: Amidst tight security, another batch of 3294 pilgrims left for Amarnath in south Kashmir today, official sources said. The pilgrims left Mam stadium in a fleet of 147 vehicles early morning today escorted by CRPF and police vehicle, official sources said adding, that security has been beefed at all the 26 lodging Centres and at Mam stadium after an attack on Vaishnodevi pilgrims at Banganga in holy town of Katra last night. The security forces along the highway have been alerted and they are maintaing a tight vigil to thwart the ulterior designs of militants, they said.
Reports from Srinagar said that more than one lakh devotees have arrived in the valley for having 'Darshan' of holy ice Lingam of Lord Shiva. Of them 92,000 had already visited the cave shrine till last evening, report added.
