Indore, Aug 16: Nationalist Congress Party will vote in favour of the no-confidence motion brought by Congress president and Leader of Opposition Sonia Gandhi, on the issue of CVC report to Public Accounts Committee on defence deals, NCP president Sharad Pawar said today.
The NCP will support the motion as it feels that the
Opposition should have a unity on the issues of national
importance and, therefore, the party has decided to vote in
its favour, he told reporters here.
The NCP president is here to address the party's state unit conference.
It can be recalled that Sonia has given a notice for tabling the no-confidence motion against the government on the issue of Chief Vigilance Commissioner report to PAC seeking a probe into the defence purchases during the Kargil conflict, on which debate and division of votes will take place on August 18-19.
