12 Samata workers injured during district president polls
Munger (Bihar), June 12: At least 12 persons were injured when supporters of rival groups within the Samata party today clashed during election for the district party president, prompting postponement of the polls.
Munger (Bihar), June 12: At least 12 persons were injured when supporters of rival groups within the Samata party today clashed during election for the district party president, prompting postponement of the polls.
Party sources said supporters of rival candidates, Shailesh Kumar and Mohammed Salam, clashed in front of party observer Hari Narayan Singh, MLA, during poll at a community hall, leaving at least 12 people from both sides injured.
Singh later postponed the election.
Two FIRs have been lodged by the rival group members with the Kotwali police station in connection with the clash, the police said.
