Lucknow, Feb 24: Taken aback by the embarrassment caused by the induction of controversial Rajya Sabha member from Uttar Pradesh D P Yadav into the party-fold, the state unit of the BJP is all set to release a list of ''criminals in other political parties.'' ''While the BJP leadership has withdrawn the membership of D P Yadav this morning, we would soon come out with a list of criminal elements in other parties who continue to thrive,'' said a top state unit leader here.

The BJP leader maintained that while his party was prompt in removing Yadav two days after his induction, there were various parties in the state which continued with ''criminal elements'' despite several public outcries.

''A small group of partymen here is compiling the list after going through the latest police and assembly records and we would shortly publish it in newspapers,'' said the leader. Criticising the ruling Samajwadi Party-led alliance for harbouring legislators with criminal antecedents, he said such elements were only helping coalition stay afloat.

''To name a few, Amarmani Tripathi, who recently switched sides from the BSP is the prime accused in the murder of young poetess Madhumita Shukla. Independent legislator Mukhtar Ansari, supporting the alliance is a Tada convict,'' he added.

He also claimed that Atiq Ahmed of Apna Dal, who recently joined the SP too had alleged criminal records.

The list would also include controversial MLA Akhilesh Singh who was declared unattached by the Congress following criminal cases against him. He had later formed the Akhil Bharatiya Congress (ABC), the leader added. ''The questions raised by the media before the Prime Minister yesterday have forced us to bring out the list,'' he claimed.
