Gorakhpur, Sept 26: Uttar Pradesh Congress President
Jagdambika Pal today criticised Chief Minister Mulayam Singh
Yadav for openly supporting former minister Amarmani Tripathi,
who was arrested recently in connection with poetess Madhumita
Shukla murder case.
Referring to Yadav's statement that Tripathi was
instrumental in saving Uttar Pradesh, pal said "it was not
Amarmani but Congress party at whose initiative Mulayam Singh
Yadav came into power and became the Chief Minister".
"Amarmani Tripathi was actually a blot on the name of
politics," pal told reporters yesterday and described the
Chief Minister's statement as "shameful".
Pal demanded Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's resignation saying that union government was also involved in Taj heritage corridor project. He accused the Centre of "pressurising CBI" in the Ayodhya demolition case and said up government should appeal to the Supreme Court against the recent verdict of Rae Bareli court discharging Deputy Prime Minsiter L K Advani from conspiracy charges.
