Pondicherry, Oct 30: Two BJP leaders here today
demanded that the Congress government in the union territory
come out with a white paper detailing the medical treatment
given to late Lt Governor K R Malkani, who died of heart
attack on Monday last.
The leaders, BJP's state unit president R Kesavalu and its secretary Raghu Sundaraman, told reporters here that doubts had allegedly been raised from several quarters on the medical attention given to Malkani.
Malkani, they claimed, had a mild cardiac problem during the check up on Monday morning itself, but he was discharged only to be re-admitted later in the evening when he had suffered chest pain.
In a bid to allay all apprehensions over the issue, the two leaders said they wanted the government to issue a white paper. If there was any delay in issuing the white paper, then they would write to the union Home Ministry, they said.
The two leaders said police were strictly adhering to the security norms and even sent out some BJP functionaries out of Raj Niwas, when Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani arrived on Tuesday. However, how did the police allow a couple of "unidentified" women to approach Advani, when he returned from the crematorium after paying his homage to Malkani, they asked.
Kesavalu said a team of partymen would camp in Delhi to campaign for the party in the assembly polls to woo Tamil speaking voters.
