New Delhi, Jan 30: In a bureaucratic reshuffle, Delhi Development Authority (DDA) Vice Chairman Anil Baijal was today appointed as Union Home Secretary while Fertilizers Secretary Nripendra Misra was shifted as Telecommunication Secretary and Chairman of Telecom Commission. Secretary (Border Management), Home Ministry, Pratyush Sinha has been moved to Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, according to the decisions approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
A 1969-batch IAS officer belonging to AGMU cadre, Baijal succeeds N Gopalaswami who has been elevated as an Election Commissioner.
Gopalaswami is expected to take over his new assignment on February eight. Bureau Report
