Srinagar, Sep 02: BSF foiled a suicide attack on its camp at Nishad near here in Jammu and Kashmir by killing a militant in the wee hours today, BSF spokesman said. BSF spokesman said troops noticed movement of militants, who were trying to enter the camp by cutting the barbed wire at Ishberg Nishat, near the camp of 57 battlion at 3 am in the morning.

The BSF jawans challenged the militants and killed one of them. The troops launched a search in the area for other militants who escaped, the spokesman said.
The identity of the slain militant was not immediately known but Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) was believed to be behind the attack, the spokesman said.

The JeM had threatened to launch attacks on the security forces to avenge the killing of their chief commander (operations) Ghazi Baba in an encounter at Noorbagh-Qammerwari on Saturday.
