Chandigarh, June 03: Thirteen teachers from Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh have been selected for the national awards for teachers for 2002. The awards would be given away to the selected teachers by the president on September 5, an official spokesman said here today.
Seven teachers chosen from Haryana included four primary school teachers namely Jai Kumar Singh (Darwa) Yamuna Nagar district, Kamla Devi (Madhuban) Hissar, Gurmeet Kaur (Ganjogarhi) Karnal, Prakash Chand (Shergar) Sirsa and three secondary school teachers: Lakhpat Rai (Wazirabad) Gurgaon, Chandna Choudhary (Punjab) Panipat and Veen Bhayana (Fatehabad) Fatehabad district.
Ranjit Singh (Salem Tabri), Amarjit Kaur (Gill) and Gurcharan Kaur (Pau) Ludhiana district and Sardari Lal (Zahura) Hoshiarpur district are secondary school teachers selected from Punjab.
Jagat Nath Dhiman (Garli) Hamirpur district, Khiali Ram (Sohari) Una of primary schools and Ramji Dass Soni (Sansar) Kangra and Roshan Lal (Lathiani) Una district of secondary school have been selected from Himachal Pradesh.
