Lucknow, Sept 30: The bail application of former Uttar Pradesh minister Amar Mani Tripathi, currently in CBI custody in connection with the poetess Madhumita Shukla murder case, would come up for hearing in the CBI court here today. The bail application, filed by Tripathi before special judicial magistrate (CBI) R M Yadav on September 27, would be taken up today, his lawyer V.K.Shahi told. Meanwhile, the petition of Tripathi's wife Madhumani seeking a stay on her arrest in the case, would also come up for hearing today in the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court, the lawyer said.

CBI, which is probing the high profile murder case, had been conducting raids at different places to apprehend Madhumani. The slain poetess's sister Nidhi Shukla had alleged immediately after the killing of Madhumita that the killing had been perpetrated at the behest of Tripathi's wife, who did not approve of his alleged affair with the poetess'. She had, however, later retracted her statement.
