Pak to announce its response to India`s proposals today
Islamabad, Oct 27: Pakistan is likely to announce a set of counter proposals later today in response to India`s recent package of proposals to improve relations between the two countries.

Pakistani officials said a response was likely to be announced to the media by Pakistan Foreign Secretary Riaz Khokhar this afternoon in the absence of Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri who was out of the country at present.
Khokhar would announce counter proposals and additional measures to last week's 12 point proposals made by India, local daily 'Dawn' reported today.
Pakistan's counter proposals, which were reportedly drawn up after hectic consultations between relevant ministries were submitted for approval of President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, the newspaper said.

Besides responding to Indian proposals, Pakistan could announce a number of higher technical scholarships and free medical treatment to poor Indian patients.
A hospital in Karachi recently said it was willing to provide free treatment to 20 cardiac patients from India.
