Raje for giving 25 party tickets to women in Rajasthan polls

Jaipur, Oct 11: Rajasthan BJP chief Vasundhara Raje today favoured giving at least 25 party tickets to women candidates in the coming assembly elections.
The party tickets for the December one assembly elections
are yet to be decided and we can't say just now what number of
women candidates the party would be fielding in the polls but
their number would certainly be more than the eight women
fielded in the 1998 elections, Raje said in an interactive
session with media women's group here.
"I feel at least one woman would get ticket in each of 25 parliamentary constituencies in Rajasthan," she said.
A larger number of the 8,000 applications received by the state unit of the BJP from ticket seekers were women, Raje, the chief ministerial candidate of the party in the state, said.
Asserting that she would lead the party to a huge victory in coming elections in the state, Raje said there was no ill-feeling against her in any section of the organisation because there was enough space for every one in the party and all have the same goal of bring BJP back to power.
