India on Monday strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a Protestant church in Pakistan that left five persons including wife and children of an American diplomat dead. "Government of India strongly condemns the terrorist attack" in Islamabad, an external affairs ministry spokesperson said in New Delhi adding, "it regrets loss of innocent lives". Asked about US Assistant Secretary of State Christina Rocca cutting short her visit here and rushing to Islamabad on Monday cancelling all her engagements, she said, "we perfectly understand she had to go". Asked whether Rocca proposed to return to New Delhi, the spokesperson said she would be returning to Washington directly from Islamabad. The spokesperson said the two sides were in touch with each other and dates will be finalised soon for the next round of parleys. Bureau Report
